Based on our learning from the Jam Khambhalia, we established another pilot project with support from Arvind Foundation and IMPact4Nutrition in Hajipur village of Gandhinagar district.
This initiative was a unique initiative with an aim of treating all malnourished children in particular village. We started our activities with community level awareness generation, capacity building of frontline workers and screening of all children aged 0-6 in the Hajipur village.
We screened all 600 children in the
village and identified SAM and SUW
(Severe Underweight) children.
subsequently we established a day
care centre in Hajipur village itself
for ensuring ease of access to the
community for the treatment. We
have successfully treated more than
80 SAM & SUW children under this
initiative. Most of the children
completed their treatment and
follow-up with desired weight gain
We are thankful to Arvind Foundation and
IMPact4Nutrition coalition for partnership
and helping children of the Hajipur village.
This pilot project helped us build our
nutrition program for smaller population
and for particular geographies.
