1971 elders living in old age homes
Project Mavtar was an eye opener in many ways for the Niramay. We had an opportunity to understand various issues related to the elder mobility and
health. One of the major area identified was with the mobility of disabled or
orthopaedically disabled elders. Many old age homes have requested for the
provision of wheelchairs for facilitating mobility of elders within premise of the
old age homes.

With support from PEHEL foundation, we identified 50 Old age homes across the five cities namely Ahmedabad, Surat, Bhopal, Raipur and Vijaywada. We identified ten old age homes
in each of the city and distributed on an average 4 wheelchairs per old age home.
In total we distributed 200 wheelchairs
across 50 old age homes. We are grateful
to PEHEL foundation for supporting such a
noble cause to be of help to the elders
living in old age homes. Project Care is the
beginning of our long pending desire of to
be of help to the elders at community
level. This project has led to further
expansion of this program in to new areas
for elder care.
